About Us
"Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community. "
The Zeta Psi Chapter is more than just a business fraternity. Despite our heavy focus on the world of business, we work extensively with the local community. Each semester the chapter organizes and attends numerous community service events. We understand the importance to give back to the area around us, and in the past have worked with organizations such as The Ronald McDonald House, Toys for Tots, and Relay for Life, among others.
Brotherhood is one of the main themes of our organization. We are more than just members in a fraternity- every brother is there for one another at all times. Whether it is to provide some help during the long study sessions in the library; or if your car breaks down on the side of the road, you can always count on a Brother to be there for you.
The Brothers of the Zeta Psi Chapter have made it their mission to recruit the finest talent that the campus has to offer. Only the best will be allowed acceptance in order to maintain the prestigious and successful fraternity DSP has come to represent. If you’re interested in being recruited by the Delta Sigma Pi, Zeta Psi Chapter, be sure to attend any of the three initial Recruitment events every Fall and Spring. Make your presence known- we’re looking forward to meeting you.
History
Delta Sigma Pi is an international professional business fraternity founded at the School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance at New York University. Delta Sigma Pi began as a club at NYU, started by four men with common interests of business, hard work and social activity. After a few months, on November 7, 1907, Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello, Henry Albert Tienken and Harold Valentine Jacobs launched the new fraternity. Delta Sigma Pi finally established itself and became officially recognized two years after its founding. Ever since, Delta Sigma Pi continues to grow every year. To this day there are 196 chapters currently operating and over 225,000 initiates.
The Zeta Psi chapter of Delta Sigma Pi at the University at Albany was founded in 1967. The Zeta Psi chapter has become a prominent professional fraternity on campus over the years. Our chapter participates in many community service events throughout each semester including Relay for Life and Habitat for Humanity. The Zeta Psi chapter also hosts SUNY Albany’s annual Career Fair which is open to all students on campus. There have currently been 1,159 initiates of the Zeta Psi chapter of Delta Sigma Pi.
